6 Month Birthday and our Labor Day Weekend

To start off our weekend my sister and I went to the Living Planet Aquarium on Friday, her kids loved it! She ended up getting year passes as well so that'll be nice. Conner just stayed in the stroller and people watched. Friday night we went to the Salt Lake Bees game with our friends Hope and Brandon. Thanks guys! Saturday was a nice relaxing morning. Steve and I made an awesome breakfast with whole wheat crepes and sausage. For our toppings on the crepes we had nutella, strawberries, powdered sugar, and bananas. SO GOOD! Then we all took a nap, ran some errands and then watched the BYU game at Lance's house (Steve's brother). That was such a good game! I am so excited for us to go to the BYU v. UTAH game in November. By then it was about 10:00 pm and Steve's other brother, Kyle, invited us to his house for games. We played for a couple hours but Conner couldn't wait any longer to go to bed. Such a good kid. Sunday morning we went to Lance's ward for Brigham's baby blessing, and that night all the Ferguson's got together for dinner. Yum! Monday morning Steve, Kyle, Lisa and I went up West Canyon. We took the four wheeler and the Razor. I really enjoy the Razor a lot more than the four wheeler. I feel a lot safer and have more control. So, thanks Lance for letting us borrow your stuff. My mother-in-law, Susan was kind enough to watch Conner so we could go, thank you Susan. This evening we had family pictures and a BBQ. I attempted to take Conner's 6 month pictures. I feel like I just took his 5 month pictures. When we had our family pictures taken she did take some of Conner so if I can't get a good one maybe she did. Guess what else? I bought Conner's Halloween costume tonight!!! Here are some pics from our weekend, and where Conner stands at 6 months.

At his appointment today they told me Conner has a hernia. But the doctor said they usually close up on their own but to watch his belly button to see if it pokes out more.

He loves to pull my hair. He can sit all by himself for quite a while now, at least a few minutes. He gets in the crawling position a lot and rocks back and forth. He likes to blow raspberries in the morning after he has had his bottle and spit on me. It's pretty cute. Only a mom would think that is cute. He sleeps through the night, usually 11-12 hours. He wakes up around 7:45 am., and goes to bed between 7 and 8. He tried peas this weekend for the first time as well as beans. He didn't care for the peas very much.

I only got a couple of these with the cute background because Conner was too tired. I will try again this week to get some more because I think the background is so cute. I need Steve there just in case he falls back.

This is just a start, I was starting to get bored at the stores. The items on the bottom only have Costco's price because I forgot to look them up at Wal-Mart. So pretty much everything is cheaper at Costco than Wal-Mart. Now when you get your ads in the mail you can compare Costco with the other grocery stores ads and see who has the best deals. I know I am missing a lot of every day items like canned goods but I'll add to the list later.

Of course I can't have a post without Conner in it. Here are a bunch of pictures of Conner's attempts at crawling today. After the pictures there is a video.

I wonder if maybe in a month he'll be crawling.

Baking

I am more of a cook than a baker. I attempt baking at times, but here is an example of why I don't do it more.

Surprisingly they did taste really good. It was the first time that I had made this recipe, it was the Amish Friendship Bread.

I have added cooking blogs on the side. Take a look if you ever need an idea. I've only made two of the recipe's from Kara's Kitchen Creations and they were really good. I made Teriyaki Chicken and General Tso's Chicken. We had another family look at our house today.

This Week

To start off the week we went to, The Living Planet Aquarium. It was awesome! It cost an adult $8 to get in one time or you can buy a one year pass and go as many times as you would like for $16. Definitely worth it. They had an octopus there that I tried to take a picture of but because their eyes are so sensitive to light you can't use your flash. So none of my pictures turned out from that. But here are some other fun ones.

This is an electric eel. The pinkish part is his face. On the tank there was a sensor that measured the amount of current that the eel was putting off. It was really cool. While we were standing there the sensor jumped up to say he was in hunting mode.

These are Piranhas. I didn't know they were so big.

They let you touch the Sting Rays. It scared me so bad but I finally managed to touch him. He was gushy.

Conner was so fascinated by this. It was a giant bubble that magnified everything that was in the tank. It had a very bright light inside and Conner was throwing himself to get to it.

These two pictures are of different kinds of jellyfish. I don't know why sea creatures freak me out.

We borrowed this walker from my sister-in-law. Conner walks over to the sliding glass door when he sees Copper sitting on the other side.

On Thursday Steve and I went to Ashley Beck's (Christofferson) house for a BBQ with all my girlfriends from high school and their husbands. It's always fun to get together.
Friday night I had a girls night with Hope and Ashley. Yummy food and foot spas. I did make a new recipe for the girls night. I made white chocolate raspberry cream cheese frosting on homemade chocolate cupcakes. Good times!
Saturday started off with Steve's work party up at Deer Creek. They rented a couple wave runners and provided lunch. I took Steve and me out on the lake. The water was really rough and I am not use to driving those. My throat hurt by the time we got off from screaming and Steve's stomach hurt from laughing so hard at me.
Saturday night our stake put on a Harvest Festival. I signed up to bring a soup and when I showed up I started laughing. I have NEVER seen so many crockpots at one time in my life. They also had face painting, a live band, gunny sack races, and blow up toys.

Currant Creek Campout

My sister Debbie and her family as well as my parents went with us to Currant Creek Reservoir this weekend for a camping trip. It was a lot of fun. Great food, great company and lots of laughs. The reservoir was about a 2 minute walking trip from our campsite. We fished quite a bit and didn't catch anything! It was very nice to have bathrooms nearby as well. Friday night we had some raccoons visit our camp while we were sleeping. We woke up to find their paw prints on the tablecloths and over all the coolers, we had one cardboard box of dry food that they had ripped part of the top off trying to get to the food. It's kind of funny how well and sometimes better you eat while camping even though it isn't near as convenient as cooking at home. Conner did have some rough nights but Steve did most of the work. Thank you babe.

After we got home from camping on Sunday and settled down the three of us were just playing around on the bed. Suddenly Conner got up on all fours and crawled about four steps toward Steve. Steve just looked at me with big eyes and said he just crawled to me. We got so excited and started clapping for Conner, he just got this big grin on his face. We tried to get him to do it again but we couldn't. It is going to be so fun and so much work once he starts crawling.

Catch Up

I know that I am jumping the gun on the fall blog but I can't wait! I love the fall. One thing I love about fall is school starting. I can't wait for Scholastic book orders. I keep forgetting to mention how Conner is growing up. He now holds his bottle about 75% of the time by himself. He rolls over in both directions. It is funny he'll lay on his stomach roll to his back and then roll to his stomach, fun to watch. Lately he gets up on his knees trying to crawl when he wants to reach something that is too far away but he doesn't pick up the front of his body so he usually ends up in a strange looking yoga position. He tried carrots for the first time and didn't really care about them at all. He can sit by himself for about 20-30 seconds before he starts to fall over. He has been back on his old sleeping schedule which is wonderful. Last night he slept 12 hours, from seven to seven. Well I think that covers it.
Today Conner and I went to the library and checked out some books but I only checked out children's books. If anyone has any suggestions for me to read that are clean and fun adult books let me know. Today we also went to Thanksgiving Point because it was $2 Tuesday. We went to the petting zoo with, Debbie, Amber and all their kids. It was fun. I took a ton of pictures.
