14 Weeks

How your baby's growing:

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.

In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

Nursery=Bliss

Yesterday Conner went to nursery for the first time. He LOVED it. It was our first Sunday in our new ward, since last week was regional conference, as soon as we walked in Conner saw a stroller that dolls ride in. He immediately got out of Steve's arms ran over to it and never looked back. Steve peeked in there at one point and Conner was on a teeter totter with another boy. When it came time to pick him up all the leaders said he did such a good job. I love the nursery program! Here are pics of his first day.

After church we went in the backyard and picked apples and pears off of our trees in the back.

This is Conner while he was sitting in time out. He get's put there quite a bit, but he is really good to just sit there for his 2 minutes. I actually think he likes to sit there.

Finally here are Conner's 18 month stats from a couple of weeks ago.

 Length: 33 inches, Weight: 26.4 lbs, Head Circ.: 48.7 cm

Some of Conner's favorite things:
laying in this crib. He will lay in his crib for a couple of hours and just talk.
Group hugs with mom and dad. If he ever sees Steve and me hugging he has to join in.
Milk. He will drink a gallon of milk all by himself in 4 days. I have to limit his milk intake or he would drink even more.
Books. He loves, to read books. I can't stress how much he loves to read books.
Baby Powder. He will lay down to have his diaper changed if you tell him he can have baby powder in his diaper.

Good News

How your baby's growing: 11 weeks

Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.

She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.

I am pregnant again! Steve and I were very surprised to see a positive pregnancy test only 4 weeks after I completed my miscarriage. We are very excited to be blessed with another child. I am finally starting to not be as sick. I had my first doctor's appointment on Tuesday and the baby's heart beat was 160. Dr. Parker offered to special me and I thought that was extremely kind. So we are excited to have him deliver. He helped in the delivery of Steve who was born via c-section. Kind of cool that he will now deliver one of Steve's children. Thanks for everyone's comforting words in my previous post, I do have it together again. As of now the baby's due date is March 29, 2011. So, Steve, Conner and the new one will all have March birthdays.

Absolute Craziness!

So, I am about to lose it. We just moved this weekend and it has been exhausting. I spent 9 hours on Friday cleaning the rental home we moved into. It was disgusting! Beyond words. Saturday more cleaning and setting things up. Conner now HAS TO GET INTO EVERYTHING. I am losing patience fast. The house is a mess! Steve started school so he is very busy with work and homework. I don't have internet right now. Occasionally I can find my phone if it isn't dead because I have misplaced my charger in the mess. I need a break! Still can't find any of my plates and I don't have a microwave yet. Washer and dryer still isn't hooked up. The dryer has a different plug than what we have. All I can do right now is cry which is what Conner is doing as well. He has diaper rash and hasn't been sleeping very well. I am exhausted. I just can't wait for my house to be put together. I need a routine again. On a positive note I am so grateful for all the tender mercies from the Lord that we experience daily. So I shouldn't be complaining. But I needed to for just a sec. I just need to get a grip. Give me 10 minutes and I'll be good again.
