The past couple months of fun...catch up

Shannon got some new clothes so I took her into our backyard and snapped a few pictures.

The first weekend of September I put on a Harry Potter party. I made wands for each of the guests, as well as a box to store each one.

I typed up an acceptance letter/invite for each guest.

Each guest had a ticket to board the Hogwarts Express.

We made goodie bags that looked like brooms. We used pretzel rods for the stick part.

These pictures aren't in order so I'll just tell you what we did. First thing that the kids did was visit Eeylop's Owl Emporium. Each child was given a white balloon, and a bunch of feathers to decorate their owl. I used my cricut and cut out a bunch of ovals to use as feathers. After they received their owl they headed to Ollivanders to buy a wand. I made the boxes out of chipboard, then laid a piece of velvet fabric in the bottom. The wands were really easy, quick and fun to make. I took an        8 1/2 x 11 piece of white paper and rolled it at an angle. Then I decorated each one with hot glue. After that I painted each wand with acrylic paint. I thought they were pretty cool, I found the tutorial at, instructables.com.

After they received their owl and wand it was time to board the Hogwarts Express. I took a picture of the table before it was complete. That weird thing in the lefthand corner had dry ice during the party so it smoked. I made three cauldrons by the front door with dry ice in those as well.

We made the boxes for the chocolate covered frogs.

I made this sign and hung it on the front door.

I decided to try making baby shoes. I found a bunch of tutorials online and decided to make Shannon a pair of Maryjane shoes. I thought they turned out pretty cute.
I came home one night from an appointment and found that Steve had made dinner. This was his presentation, yes that is a slice of pineapple in the applesauce but I thought it was very sweet.

During the priesthood session I headed up Big Cottonwood Canyon to visit my mom and dad at Spruces. This caterpillar was inching it's way across the path. I thought it was so cool and immediately thought of that movie, Summer Magic, with Hayley Mills

My dad spotted this Cow and her baby. Her baby is behind her and I couldn't get a very good shot. I didn't dare go any closer,

Driving around in the golf cart looking at all the trees.

I learned on Pinterest that you can color your food with milk and food coloring. Sunday morning before conference started we tried it out on our toast.

This is what it looked like after it was toasted.

Oh my word, I am truly amazed by that party! What talent! I'll need to hire you to plan my kids' birthday parties. My idea of a Harry Potter party would be to watch all the movies and maybe prop some brooms up in the corner of the room.
My kids are gonna hate me.
